Hey Everyone,

It’s Bloomsday, June 16, the day on which the action in the book Ulysses took place in 1904. We took Kinch as our band name because it’s the nickname of one of the book’s protagonist. It made quite an impression on me when I read it, even though I understood very little of it.

So, but, then, here’s a free song we did some months back as our present to you on this Bloomsday.

I am here right now, in Los Angeles, where I have been for a few days now. I am not right now standing before this mirror, no. I was there two nights ago. Next Saturday I will have been away from this play where I was — I will have been in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Boise, Portland and Seattle. And then I will be back in Los Angeles. And then Phoenix. By the end of June I will be traveling through the deep south, making my westerly way to San Antonio, where I will be on Independence Day, deus vult. Before I will have been in San Antonio, though, I was in New York and places around New York four weeks. It will have been great.

How will you have been by July?

We’re playing this Saturday (4/30) at noon on the main stage. A couple years ago we did an acoustic thing inside a tent during which Andrew played a solo cover of Toxic. I volunteered to be his music stand since he didn’t have the lyrics memorized and couldn’t read his cheat sheet on the ground.
